Bathroom Remodeling in Tulsa

Tulsa Bathroom Remodeling Built for Daily Use and Oklahoma Humidity

A bathroom works harder than almost any room in the house, and in Tulsa it also has to stand up to humid summers and daily steam. As a bathroom remodeler in Tulsa, Powers Design & Build handles guest baths, kids’ baths and primary bath remodels, often down to the studs.

We plan ventilation, waterproofing and moisture-rated materials before anyone picks tile, so the room still looks right in ten years. We’ve even finished a bathroom another contractor left half-done, in time for the family’s first baby to arrive.

Good design also makes the room easier to live with. Two sinks and separate storage end the morning traffic jam in a shared primary bath. A smarter vanity gives a kids’ bath a place for everything, and better lighting makes a guest bath feel welcoming instead of cramped.

What Goes Into a Lasting Bathroom

Most bathroom problems start where you can’t see them. Every bathroom remodeling project we build covers:

Bath remodeling company
  • Ventilation. Exhaust fans sized to the room and ducted outside, often on humidity sensors, so steam never lingers.
  • Waterproofing. Membranes behind and under every wet area, not just tile and grout, to protect the framing for decades.
  • Quiet accessibility. Wider clearances, grab-bar blocking and comfort-height fixtures that don’t look clinical.

What Drives the Budget

We price every bathroom after seeing it, because two baths the same size can need very different work. Scope matters most: refreshing a guest bath is a very different project from a full primary bath remodel. Moving a toilet, shower or vanity adds more than keeping them in place, and custom tile patterns or frameless shower glass are popular upgrades that add up. In older homes, water damage or outdated plumbing behind the walls can also change the plan, which is why we look closely before we quote.

Once the design is set, you get an itemized proposal before any demolition. For more detail, see what Tulsa bathroom remodels really cost. Adding square footage? That’s a home addition.

From Demo to Done

Once construction starts, most bathroom remodels take four to eight weeks. Demolition and rough-in come first, then waterproofing and tile, then the vanity, glass and fixtures. Design and ordering happen beforehand, so your bathroom is out of commission as briefly as possible. The Tulsa bathroom remodel timeline walks through each phase.

Primary Bath and Shower Remodels We've Built in Tulsa

Each one started with a different problem:

  • Midtown Deco — An aging tub and leaking shower replaced with a reconfigured, Deco-inspired bath, for clients who’d already had us remodel their kitchen.
  • Woody Crest — Three upstairs baths, including the primary, each designed around the person who uses it.
  • Blackhurst Midtown — A new primary bath and a second full bath in a nearly 100-year-old home, finished in about five months.

Bathroom Remodeling Service FAQs

What should I think about before remodeling a bathroom?

Start with how the bathroom is used every day. Storage, privacy, lighting, ventilation, shower access, fixture placement, and durable materials all affect comfort, maintenance, safety, and long-term usability for the people using the space daily too.

Yes, small bathrooms can work harder with smart planning. Adjusting the vanity, shower, lighting, storage, door swing, and layout can improve movement, reduce clutter, and make the room feel more comfortable without needing additional square footage.

Value often comes from practical upgrades. Walk-in showers, quality tile, durable fixtures, better ventilation, improved lighting, smart storage, and easy-to-clean surfaces can support comfort, resale appeal, and lasting use for homeowners over time.

Yes, accessibility can be planned in a subtle way. Wider clearances, safer shower entries, grab bar blocking, handheld showerheads, better lighting, comfort-height fixtures, and slip-resistant surfaces can support changing needs over the years ahead.

Choose materials that handle moisture, cleaning, and daily wear. Porcelain tile, quartz surfaces, quality fixtures, sealed grout, strong ventilation, and durable cabinetry help the bathroom stay polished while reducing long-term maintenance concerns.

If you’re looking for the person and team to upgrade or fix your home Bill Powers and his crew are the best. The work they do is superb. In our case Bill and his team saved us from a shady contractor. He inherited a mess of a job and finished the job with great results. In the case of my wife and I, we moved to Tulsa and under budget constraints and the advice of my realtor we hired a handyman to remodel our bathroom. To make a long story short, we had a handyman contractor talk a big game and say he could do it all himself. We paid him and things went from bad to worse. Well past the time we should’ve fired him, I reached out to Bill and he came in personally to inspect and form an action plan. Shortly thereafter we fired the fly-by-night contractor and hired Bill to salvage the bathroom and complete it before our first baby was to arrive (within a couple months). Bill and his team took what I thought would be a disaster and turned into a fully operational and beautiful bathroom remodel (in time for our baby to arrive). They fit us into their already full schedule and that first of many clues that Bill and his team really care about their clients and want to do right and good for people. Bill is the face, but Perry, Boyd, Blake, Julie, Rick, Craig, Mauricio, and the rest go their team was excellent. Bill has the best people in all areas and they are truly delightful to not only work on your home but talk too as well. I felt like any of them could be family or friends and never felt uncomfortable with them in my home. They had my trust completely. Whether you’re under a budget or not, if you want the job done right and by an outstanding team, then hire Bill. We could’ve just saved ourselves more money, time, and headaches and hired the team that would’ve done it right the first time. Bill, it took me a year to review you…I’m sorry, but thank you so much. We’re still as happy as we were then and I’ll recommend no one else but you for home remodels and upgrades…or also if they need bailed out of a sketchy remodel by a bad contractor. Thank you!

Bill, Julie, and their subcontractors are amazing! They listen, give expert advice, care deeply about the quality of their work, arrive promptly and leave the workplace clean, are considerate and polite, and happily go the "extra mile" to solve unforeseen issues. I enjoyed working alongside the Powers' team very much and highly recommend them to everyone considering a renovation/building project!

I has been nearly three years since Powers Design and Build completed a beautiful kitchen remodel for our home. Recently, I noticed the finish on some of my beautiful cabinets was peeling around the knob handles. After contacting Bill Powers about this he immediately sent Julie Fulton out to inspect the cabinet doors. They agreed that this should not be happening, contacted the manufacturer's rep and within weeks ordered a complete new set of cabinet doors for my ENTIRE kitchen. This would ensure that the shade of the finish on ALL my cabinet doors would match perfectly. The process was completed quickly, efficiently, and FREE of charge. Julie was SO friendly and an absolute delight to work with. Ray was conscientious, hard working, and the cabinet doors were hung beautifully. Thank you, Thank you! I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas Present! Sincerely, Christy A.

OMGosh, Bill Powers took my vague idea and turned it into a dream. Our kitchen renovation is a total transformation. The workers were clean, respectful, and very pleasant to interact with. Work was planned well and aside from the expected dust, I still felt like we had a “home” rather than a construction zone. Thanks, Bill. We love it!

Working with Powers Design & Build was a truly positive experience. From the beginning, they crafted an excellent plan that perfectly captured our vision and we absolutely love the final result. Our kitchen, family room, bar area, and pantry were transformed into an exceptional space that feels both functional and beautiful. The team was professional and skilled. Carpenters Ray and Mark stood out for their responsiveness, punctuality, and craftsmanship. Every specialist from the plumber to the tile floor installer, countertop team, and fireplace tile installer delivered top-notch work. One recommendation: be sure to document all decisions and changes in writing to keep everything clear and on track. Overall, we’re thrilled with the outcome and recommend Powers Design & Build for anyone seeking quality and creativity in their home renovation.

Powers Design and Build just completed a substantial renovation of my nearly 100-year-old home, including the creation of a primary suite and full renovation of an additional bathroom. From our first meeting, I was impressed with Bill’s (and Julie’s) hands-on approach. He responded quickly to my initial inquiry and sent me a proposed design and tentative budget shortly thereafter. The design demonstrated that Bill had listened to my ideas during our initial meeting and respected the character of my home. Throughout the renovation, he was frequently on site and was always accessible by phone and email. I can count on one hand the number of days my house was not bustling with construction activity during the 5-month project and everyone who played a role in the project was competent, professional, and committed to ensuring my satisfaction. Many of them have been working with Bill for decades. Because of the age of my house and the amount of deferred maintenance, unexpected issues delayed completion of my project. But I was grateful that Bill addressed these issues head-on with concern for my safety and the integrity of my home. I am thrilled with the results and can give Powers Design and Build my highest recommendation.
